Who Are We?

McMillan Woods Global (MCMWG) is a global network or association of independent local and regional firms of recognised qualified accountants and professional advisors. It was established for the purpose of providing members and their clients with the capability of furnishing a broader spectrum of accounting, auditing, advisory and management services at a cutting edge cost effective basis.

Our Vision.

The many offices of MCMWG are characteristically fully serviced offices with a typical recognised structure, which carry some common colour features namely, red, maroon, white and black. Each of these firms is fast growing as members themselves are “movers and shakers” which is evident in their individual characteristics. The localities of these offices are primarily in the Central Business District in each country and where the services are needed, these offices are spread across the country to better service its clients.

Dr. Sharkawy Elfar is a prominent professional figure in the fields of accounting, auditing, and tax advisory. He currently serves as
Executive Partner at Arab Accountants and Auditors, a member of the global Macmillan Woods network,
where he leverages his extensive expertise to enhance the financial and tax performance of major organizations.

Professional Experience and Achievements

Dr. Sharkawy Elfar has extensive and in-depth experience spanning
more than 30 years,
during which he has worked on auditing financial statements for numerous banks and major corporations.

He is an experienced expert in strategic tax planning,
providing effective tax advisory services that contribute to improving financial efficiency and reducing tax risks while maintaining full compliance with local and international laws.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sharkawy Elfar has led
more than 800 professional engagements
across more than 14 sectors, with total engagements and tax dispute resolutions
exceeding USD 3 billion.
These engagements have included:

• Value Added Tax (VAT) and Income Tax.

• Employment Income Tax and Stamp Tax.

• Transfer Pricing.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Sharkawy Elfar served as Tax Partner at Kreston Egypt and previously worked as a Tax Officer at the Egyptian Tax Authority.

• Doctor of Science in Accounting: 2025.

• Master of Business Administration (MBA): 2023.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, 1995.

• Fellow of the Egyptian Society for Accountants and Auditors (ESAA).

• Certified Auditor with the Central Bank of Egypt.

• Certified Auditor with the Central Auditing Organization.

The work of Dr. Sharkawy Elfar is based on local and international standards and regulations, including Egyptian Accounting Standards, IFRS Standards, Egyptian Auditing Standards, the COSO Framework, governance principles issued by the OECD, in addition to Egyptian tax laws.

Dr. Mohamed has a distinguished professional track record spanning
more than 19 years
across the markets of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with CEOs, CFOs, financial institutions, and government entities in environments requiring the resolution of complex financial challenges.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mohamed has led
more than 400 professional engagements
across more than 12 different sectors, with total transactions and engagements
exceeding USD 1.4 billion.
These assignments have included:

• Financial Valuation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
Conducting due diligence and providing strategic advisory services for restructuring initiatives.

• Corporate Transformation and Governance Programs:
Implementing governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) frameworks, and designing internal controls and financial policies to enhance efficiency and sustainable growth.

• Capacity Building:
Contributing effectively to the development of executive talent through more than 2,400 hours of specialized training.

Before joining "Macmillan Woods," Dr. Mohamed held several senior leadership positions, including Partner for Advisory and Training at "Kreston Egypt," Principal Financial Controller at the Ministry of Finance in the United Arab Emirates, and Executive Director at "Kreston" in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Academic Qualifications and International Credentials

Dr. Mohamed's professional expertise is supported by a strong academic background and distinguished professional credentials, including:

• Doctorate in Financial Management (2025):
An original dissertation examining "The Relationship Between Valuation Methods and Stock Price Forecasting."

• Master of Science in Business Administration (2023):
Specialization in Financial Management.

• Certified Public Accountant:
Since 2011.

Dr. Mohamed also holds prominent official memberships and credentials. He is a Certified Board Member and a Qualified Internal Auditor with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) in Egypt, in addition to his membership in the Arab Federation of Accountants and Auditors (AFAA).
